Days of August is a sculptural jewellery label founded by Marie-Pier Labelle in Adelaide, Australia.

Born in Montreal, Canada, Marie-Pier completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in cinematography before moving to Australia in 2004. She spent a decade working in the camera department on feature films, developing a keen eye for composition and use of negative space.

She took up silversmithing at Adelaide's JamFactory and launched the label in 2011. Specialising in stainless steel was a deliberate choice. She was drawn to its sleek look and brushed finish, but it isn't a metal jewellers usually use as it's quite hard to work with. She had to adapt traditional techniques and test different tools to handle its solidity. She stuck with it for what it gives back : it won't tarnish, it's perfectly gentle on sensitive skin, and it can withstand water, perfumes, and beauty products. Its strength lets her work at a bold scale while keeping pieces light and wearable.

Her work draws on architecture and contemporary design. Each piece comes down to line, proportion and restraint. Confident, but never loud.
